Creep Analysis

The location of creep plays a big part in this film as it is distinctively a very public location, a tube station. This adds to the aspect of fear as people are constantly using a tube station in their everyday lives, so to see the horrific actions that take part in the film Creep, it makes them feel uneasy as they feel this could happen to them. Whilst watching this film, the audience might also feel like they're trapped and some might even feel they are claustrophobic as the protagonist finds herself stuck in the station as all exits are locked and there is no way out, The feeling is exaggerated by the film as she finds herself trapped when she wakes up, this rises fear within the audience as a lot of the public sleep on public transport and they begin to think they couild fall in the same predicament.

We also see that the mis-en-scene used in Creep is predominantly like dingy and dirty. This adds to the audience feeling the sense of creepiness whilst watching the film and because the London underground is realistically dirty, the possibility of a monster such as Craig actually existing. Therefore there will be added fear within the audience.

The audience are also enticed using theory portrayed by Laura Mulvey called 'Male Gaze'. This is when the film uses a female and their sexual ties to attract a male audience. This is done when the audience the reach the scene where they build up the Kate's supposedly sexual assault, before the attacker is dragged away and stabbed. They also had Kate to be the a blonde girl who dressed up in a pretty yellow dress to attract the audience and this is stereotypically what men find attractive.
